| Madison Crossing Middle Students 6-7 "Raising the Bar" |
| Madison Crossing Middle School Honor Roll Celebration Slideshow Academic Achievement As a wrap-up of our stock market competition, MCM students built Crossing City and it was a success!! Students were asked to create a business for a one-day city. They researched the customer base, wrote a business plan, designed and built stores, and opened for business. Students spent their own money to stock the inventory for their stores. They had to determine their profit margin by calculating their start-up costs and inventory after the city closed at the end of the day. Most students made a mere $20 investment and were able to see a huge profit on their efforts. All students were reimbursed their initial investment and the profits were donated to the classroom account to help offset the cost of competitions, travel, and supplies. Students will also make a donation to a city in need. They are debating Katrina cities, or the city in Kansas. Madison Crossing City consisted of multiple businesses. Some of the businesses included bakeries, a gym, general stores, interactive games, a carnival, a photography studio, art museum, candy stand, music store, bowling alley, and many more! Elementary students were invited to shop the city. Middle School students. Thanks to all the students for shopping, the parents for sending money, and the teachers for helping to direct traffic, reschedule classes, and monitor students.
